4-17-10 Mutual Aid Garage Fire

4-17-2010- First Alarm Companies were dispatched to assist Glade Station 57 with a fully involved garage fire on Scandia Road. As requested, North Warren responded with an engine and rescue to the scene. Glade Engine 571 was first on scene with Chief Carlson in command. Crews from Glade extinguished a vehicle which was encroached by fire as well as fought the garage blaze. North Warren crews arrived shortly after Glade units and assisted with overhaul operations and accountability. Units were on scene for approximately 2 hours, then released by Glade command. Glade was assisted by North Warren, Scandia, and Russell VFDs. MW

4-11-10 Mutual Aid Structure Fire

Thursday, April 15th, 2010

North Warren was dispatched at approximately 0220hrs for reports of a working structure on Follett Run in Conewango Township in Starbrick’s territory. The structure was a mobile home. A total of 13 firefighters responded out of North Warren with Engine 8 being first engine on scene with 6 and initiating an attack. Starbick C-1 (Foust) had command. Units responded from Starbrick, North Warren, Russell, Lander, Youngsville, and Pleasant.

Its Wildfire Season

Friday, April 2nd, 2010

Wednesday afternoon an engine crew responded to a small brush fire at 6 School Street in North Warren where residents had been burning debris and caught the surrounding property on fire. 100 feet of 1 3/4 in hoseline was used to extinguish it. Engine 8, Rescue, and U12 responded. C-5 had command, Woods and Wolfe were Safety officers.

North Warren was dispatched late Thursday afternoon to assist Pleasant for a wildfire at Wilderness Trailer Park in Pleasant Twp with a strike team. Pleasant C-3 (Tipton) had command.7 wildland firefighters responded with Utility 12 and were assigned to cut line. Once the fire was contained, crews commenced with mop up of the area.

Again, Friday afternoon North Warren’s strike team was requested by Russell VFD to a wildfire on Reynolds Run. A team of 5 responded while an engine crew was dispatched to 54 House to stand by.

Long Time Member Passes

Robert Anderson, 87, passed away March 31,2010. A WWII veteran, Robert served in the Pacific. Robert joined the North Warren Fire Department in 1950. He was a Lifetime Member since 2000, serve as department president, and served with the North Warren Fire Police for many years. He is survived by his wife Martha who is a member of the North Warren VFD’s Ladies Auxiliary. The members of North Warren prayers go out to the family of Robert Anderson.
