WCSD Graduation Project- Help NWVFD Help You

Wednesday, September 5th, 2012

With the 2012 school year beginning, students will be required to fulfill graduation requirements listed in the Graduation Project Portfolio found here. An easy way to fulfill one of the requirements is to volunteer with the North Warren Volunteer Fire Department. By becoming a junior member of NWVFD any student can easily begin to meet their graduation requirements.

North Warren VFD only requires that the student be 14 years of age or older, provide working papers from the school, and give an honest effort. Little to no time beyond weekly training to be a firefighter, fire calls, and helping with events hosted by the fire department will be expected by the fire department. Training begins on Wednesday evenings and roughly lasts 2 hours. Within 10 weeks your requirement could be completed. All time spent at the firehouse or fire department event will be considered as hours toward the project. First and foremost family, school work, and sports will be a priority over the fire department.

For questions regarding becoming a junior member of the North Warren Volunteer Fire Department click the Contact Us page and leave a response. Otherwise any student or parent interested may visit on any Wednesday evening.

August Alarms

Wednesday, September 5th, 2012

Things picked up in August with 10 alarms. Of the 10 there were 6 MVAs and 1 Structure Fire. NW doubled up on 8/21 with an assist to Lander for a structure fire and an MVA with entrapment shortly after returning from Lander. Warren FD provided an engine for assistance on the MVA. NW also provided Mutual Aid to Glade and Starbrick for Fire Police.
